Strategic Plan for Research

ASHRAE 2010-2015 Research Strategic Plan Extended to 2018 

A new research strategic plan will guide ASHRAE research for the next five years. The plan outlines ASHRAE’s research goals for the next five years. It centers on sustainability, which is defined as 'the concept of maximizing the effectiveness of resource use while minimizing the impact of that use on the environment.'

Research Projects Bidding Fall 2017

ASHRAE is pleased to solicit proposals for 3 new research projects and 1 re-bid research project. The research project titles are listed below.

In all cases, electronic proposal must be in the hands of the ASHRAE MORTS by 8 A.M. EST, Friday, December 15, 2017 NO EXTENSIONS, NO EXCEPTIONS. The project is scheduled to begin April 1, 2018 or later.

**Prior to preparing a proposal, please review the sample ASHRAE Research Agreement and General Conditions found on the Research page of the ASHRAE website. If your contracting officer cannot accept this Agreement, please contact us prior to bidding.

Copies of requests-for-proposal (RFPs) are linked to the title list and may be downloaded or printed from this site.

Research in Progress: Reporting Requirements and Forms

Progress and Financial Reports, must be made to the Society, through its Manager of Research and Technical Services in quarterly intervals; specifically on or before each January 1, April 1, June 10, and October 1 of the contract period.

Research Project Final Reports

ASHRAE Technology Portal hosts the online ASHRAE Research Report repository. Final Reports of projects conducted by ASHRAE are available. This includes ASHRAE sponsored investigations at universities, laboratories, government agencies, and consulting firms that yield non-proprietary research that benefit practitioners and suppliers. ASHRAE members have free access to reports in PDF format in this repository

These Research Project Final Reports document the results of the research project, and are approved by the sponsoring Technical Committee. ASHRAE members have free access through the

Non-members can purchase and download individual Research Reports for $30 each through ASHRAE's Online Bookstore.
