ASHRAE’s HVAC Design Essentials training provides participants with instruction that accelerates their transformation into effective members of a design, construction or facilities maintenance team. Developed by industry-leading professionals selected by ASHRAE, the training provides attendees with the fundamentals and technical aspects of HVAC design. Attendees will gain practical skills and knowledge to design and maintain HVAC systems that can be put to immediate use.

In addition to gaining in-depth knowledge and understanding, attendees will receive real-world examples of HVAC systems based on the renovated ASHRAE Headquarters building and on building in the MENA region. The training also teaches a systematic approach to guide a design team to a solution that optimally meets the client’s expectations.

Instructors for Dubai Training

Chakroun_Walid-75x100.jpgWalid Chakroun, PhD, Fellow ASHRAE

Professor Walid Chakroun is a professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Kuwait University.  He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Youngstown State University in 1986, his MS from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1987, and his PhD from Mississippi State University in 1992. His research interest is in experimental and numerical thermal and fluid sciences in general and in air-conditioning systems and indoor air quality in particular. Professor Chakroun has authored and co-authored more than 75 journal articles and conference papers. He also co-authored a book, An Experimental Course in Thermal Engineering.

Cancellation Policy

Registration fees will be refunded in full if cancellation is received by ASHRAE Learning Institute at least 30 days prior to the training date. Cancellations received 15-29 days prior to the training date are subject to a $150 cancellation fee. Registrants who do not attend the training or who cancel less than 15 days prior to the training date are liable for the entire registration fee. A substitute registrant may be enrolled at any time by contacting Ayah Said by email globaltrainingcenter@ashrae.org. Member/Non-Member rates will apply to the substitute registrant.
